Dharmendra Prayer Meet: Bollywood's "He-Man" Dharmendra said goodbye to the world at the age of 89, leaving his fans and family (Dharmendra Death) in shock. In his memory, actress and MP Hema Malini has organised a prayer meeting for Dharmendra in Delhi. The prayer meeting started at 4 pm at Dr. Ambedkar International Centre on Janpath and will continue till 6 pm. Earlier, Hema Malini had organised a Geeta recitation for Dharmendra at her Mumbai home. Many well-known personalities from Delhi's Rekha Gupta to actress Kangana Ranaut attended the prayer meet and paid tribute to Dharmendra.

Hema Malini and Dharmendra's daughters, Esha Deol and Ahana Deol, and son-in-law Vaibhav Vohra were present at the prayer meeting. Esha Deol's ex-husband and businessman Bharat Takhtani also attended the event.

Chief Minister Rekha Gupta remembered Dharmendra

Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta attended a prayer meeting for actor Dharmendra on Thursday. She said, "There are very few people and artists like Dharmendra. He won millions of fans worldwide with his acting and simplicity. His smile and warmth touched every heart. His passing is a sad one for all of us, but his cinematic legacy will live on forever."

Renowned actor and politician Arun Govil paid tribute to the late superstar Dharmendra at a prayer meeting held in Delhi on December 11. The actor shared a photo of himself offering flowers to Dharmendra's photo at the prayer meeting on his social media account. He wrote, "Today, I attended the prayer meeting organized by Member of Parliament, Smt. Hema Malini ji, at the Dr. Ambedkar International Centre, New Delhi, and paid my humble tribute to the late Dharmendra ji. His simplicity and contributions will always be an inspiration. Om Shanti."

Many prominent political leaders arrived to pay tribute to Dharmendra.

Union Home Minister Amit Shah, Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman, Union Environment Minister Bhupendra Yadav, Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta, Union Railways and Information and Broadcasting Minister Ashwini Vaishnav, Minister of State Jitendra Singh, India's Minister of Consumer Affairs, Food and Public Distribution Prahlad Joshi, Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla, Union Minority Affairs Minister Kiren Rijiju, BJP MP Anurag Thakur and BJP MPs Kangana Ranaut, Harsh Malhotra and Bansuri Swaraj, political leaders like actor-politician Ravi Kishan attended.

Union Home Minister Amit Shah remembered Dharmendra

Remembering Dharmendra, Amit Shah said at the prayer meeting, “I never had a personal meeting with Dharmendra ji. He called me once when Hema ji became an MP. He had written a letter… He was concerned that Hema ji win her constituency with a good margin of votes – he mentioned this in the letter, and that is exactly what happened: Hema ji won with a very good margin. Dharmendra ji was a man with a very clean and pure heart. Today, I have come here as a fan of Dharmendra ji; I have not come here as the Home Minister. Dharmendra ji entered the film industry at a time when there was neither much money nor the luxury of today. He achieved that position through his hard work and dedication. The same person who could play a character like Sholay could also play a completely different role in Chupke Chupke.”

Ravi Kishan pays tribute to Dharmendra

 Lok Sabha member and actor Ravi Kishan said in the prayer meeting, "He was such a handsome person, I have never seen such a handsome hero. I have worked with many heroes, almost everyone in the film industry. I have never seen anyone as handsome as Dharam ji, who was beautiful both in soul and body."

Sunny Deol attended his father Dharmendra's prayer meet in Mumbai

Dharmendra's elder son and actor Sunny Deol organised a prayer meet for Dharmendra on November 27 at Taj Lands End in Mumbai, which was attended by film personalities like Salman Khan, Aishwarya Rai, Abhishek Bachchan, Akshay Kumar, Sunil Shetty, Jackie Shroff, Tiger Shroff, Vidya Balan, Anil Sharma, Utkarsh Sharma, Aryan Khan, Vivek Oberoi and Suresh Oberoi.

What caused Dharmendra's death?

Dharmendra passed away on Monday, November 24, at the age of 89. The actor had been battling age-related ailments (Dharmendra Death Reason). He breathed his last at his home in Juhu, where he was undergoing treatment after being discharged from Breach Candy Hospital. His family conducted his last rites quietly without any official announcement, for which they were widely criticized.

Dharmendra's last film was Ikkish, a war drama in which he played the father of Second Lieutenant Arun Khetrapal and Jaideep Ahlawat played an army officer. The film will be released after his death on December 25, 2025. This will be his last screen appearance after a career spanning decades.
