Pradeep Ranganathan revealed in an interview that he initially turned down the film. He said, "Keertheeswaran first contacted me through someone who knew my co-director. When I read the synopsis he sent me via email, I immediately refused. The essence of the story was shocking to me, and I was worried whether it would resonate with audiences or whether I would be ridiculed. Despite my repeated refusals, he contacted me in various ways and began harassing me. Later, he approached Mythri Movie Makers, and they accepted the script. When they asked him who they wanted to cast as the hero, he mentioned my name, and the production company contacted me. I didn't want to refuse the producer because it might hurt his chances."
