Emraan Hashmi Doesn't Blame Audience for 'Serial Kisser' Image

Emraan Hashmi is all set for the release of his series Showtime. The actor was known as a 'serial kisser' in Bollywood. However, the actor does not impose this on the audience. Not only this, Emraan Hashmi recently talked about his 'serial kisser' image.

In fact, Emraan Hashmi said during an interview, "I think a patent thing happens with many actors, an image is set, and it does not leave them. Just like Shahrukh Khan is known for his pose with his arms outstretched, Salman Khan takes off his shirt in a dance number and Anil Kapoor says 'Jhakaas', in the same way Emraan is known for the image of a serial kisser. I do not blame the audience. A large part of my career till 2009, for 7-8 years, was the image that the producers were selling. I was selling it myself".

Let us tell you that Emraan Hashmi's image as a serial kisser was formed after acting in the Murder franchise. Talking about his kissing scene in the first Murder film, Emraan said that it was a 'disruption' in Bollywood as the audience had not seen such a "bold moment" and "unabashedly rebellious character" till then.

On the work front, Emraan Hashmi is looking forward to the release of the second part of his Disney+ Hotstar series, Showtime, on July 12. Talking about the 'positive response' he received for the first part, Emraan shared, "What people responded to was that it was a breezy, entertaining and fun look at our industry. We presented a lot of truths about it in a very interesting way. I would like to give credit to the writers for that. It has captured the peculiarity of producers and stars in an industry where relationships are fickle, and fleeting. Where success and failure have no permanence and shares go up and down." Apart from Showtime, Emraan Hashmi will also be seen in two Telugu films, OG and G2.
