Hema Malini Faces Complaint for Entering Jagannath Temple, Controversy Erupts!

On one hand we say that India is a secular country. Where people of all religions are given equal recognition. On the other hand, FIRs are lodged against those who follow a different religion. Actually, Bollywood actress and BJP MP Hema Malini has recently been embroiled in controversy after visiting Puri Jagannath Temple in Odisha. A complaint has been filed against her, alleging that she should not have been allowed to enter the temple as she converted to Islam at the time of her marriage to veteran actor Dharmendra.

Complaint filed against Hema Malini

Let us tell you that Hema Malini worshiped Lord Jagannath and took his blessings in the presence of Puri MP and BJP national spokesperson Sambit Patra. However, Hema Malini has been embroiled in controversy after a complaint was lodged against her entry into the Jagannath temple in Puri, Odisha. It has been alleged that her entry into the temple was "illegal". Shri Jagannath Sena, a local organization of the temple town, has lodged a complaint at the Singhadavar police station, accusing the BJP MLA of hurting and violating religious sentiments. The organization claimed that Malini has hurt Hindu sentiments by visiting the Srimandir after marrying actor Dharmendra according to Muslim traditions.

Hema Malini expressed happiness

After visiting the temple, Hema Malini expressed her happiness and said, "I feel blessed to celebrate Holi in Jagannath Puri. I have come from Mathura. Yesterday we celebrated Holi in Mathura, today we are celebrating the festival here. I thank the Odisha government, people and Sambit Patra for the arrangements. Holi's message is that all of you should play Holi. This is the festival of Lord Krishna... play Holi of flowers". Hema Malini visited the Puri Jagannath Temple on the occasion of Holi festival during her visit to Odisha. Which also included a mesmerizing dance performance at the Vrindavan Mahotsav in Bhubaneswar on March 14. 

Hema Malini married Dharmendra in 1980

Hema Malini married Dharmendra in 1980. According to the complaint, Dharmendra, who was already married to Prakash Kaur, converted to Islam and performed Nikah with Malini bypassing the Hindu Marriage Act, which was conducted by Maulana Qazi Abdullah Faizabadi. Dharmendra and Hema appeared together in films like 'The Burning Train', 'Sholay', 'Raja Jani', 'Baghavat', 'Dharam Aur Kanoon', 'Do Dishain' and many others. The couple has two daughters Esha Deol and Ahana Deol. Dharmendra and Prakash Kaur have four children Sunny Deol, Bobby Deol, Vijeta and Ajita.

Talking about the work front, Hema Malini was last seen in Shimla Mirchi, starring Rajkumar Rao and Rakul Preet Singh in the lead roles. It was released in 2020.
