Humaira Asghar Ali died: Pakistani actress and model Humaira Asghar Ali was found dead in her apartment in Defence Housing Authority (DHA) Phase VI, Karachi on Tuesday, July 8. The body of 32-year-old Humaira Asghar was recovered by the police in a decomposed state.

In fact, according to police officials, Humaira Asghar had passed away about two weeks before her body was found. This was revealed when the landlord, who was unable to contact her and was upset over not being able to pay the rent, approached the court to initiate eviction proceedings. The court directed the Gizri police to visit the apartment located in the Ittehad Commercial area. The officials arrived at around 3:15 pm and broke the lock of the closed flat after receiving no response. A foul smell was also coming from the flat.

Police engaged in an investigation

In a statement to Pakistani news portal Images, Deputy Inspector General (DIG) of South Police Syed Asad Raza confirmed, "The apartment was locked from inside, including the balcony door". Police said there were no immediate signs of foul play at the scene. The investigation is underway and police are awaiting the postmortem report to ascertain the exact cause of death. Humaira Asghar was living alone in a rented apartment and had not been paying rent for several months. Police are trying to trace her relatives through mobile phone records.
