Cuts made in the film Veda

Let us tell you that the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) gave Veda a U/A certificate on August 6, in which more than 9 minutes were cut. The censor board had asked the makers to modify its 1-minute 16-second long disclaimer and add a voiceover to it. Apart from this, a dialogue that was allegedly derogatory towards women and social identity has also been asked to be modified. An abusive word 'behankhor' has also been replaced with 'bun'. At the same time, a 2-minute 16-second long hanging scene has also been removed. The makers have also been asked to mute the word 'Jodhpur' while referring to Jodhpur High Court. The scenes of violence inside the court premises have also been asked to be reduced by 30%.

Apart from this, in a scene of the film, a character is seen listening to an audio track of Sanskrit shlokas on a mobile phone. The censor board has now removed this song. The text information 'Brahmin son...Shudra ka putra' has also been asked to be removed. Finally, the makers have also been asked to blur the scenes of tearing currency notes.

The makers shared this post

Let us tell you that a few days ago, director Nikhil Advani had informed that the film has not yet received approval from the censor board. Sharing the post, he wrote, "We, the producers of Veda are bound to share with our fans and supporters that despite our best efforts, we are still yet to receive approval and certification from the CBFC of India." The producers claimed that they had submitted the film to the censor board after which it was forwarded for the review of the revision committee "without any explanation". However, since then they have been waiting for the formation of the committee but there has been no progress so far. Following the protocol, we applied for the certificate eight weeks before the scheduled release. Our film was screened for the CBFC on June 25. After this, we were forwarded for the review of the revision committee without any explanation as to what were the concerns or objections of the respected examining committee.
