Kamal Haasan's reaction comes after pro-Kannada organisation Karnataka Rakshana Vedike filed a complaint against him with the Bengaluru police on Wednesday, May 28. The organisation has also demanded an FIR against Kamal Haasan for his remarks. The group, led by Praveen Shetty, filed a complaint at the RT Nagar police station, demanding legal action against the actor. In its complaint, the organisation claimed that Kamal Haasan's "controversial statement" has not only hurt the sentiments of Kannada people but also created differences between Kannada and Tamils ​​and insulted Kannada people. Meanwhile, the police are yet to register an FIR related to the issue. A senior police official told news agency PTI, "We have received the complaint, but no FIR has been filed yet. We are taking legal advice and will take further action accordingly." The actor's comments have sparked outrage among several pro-Kannada groups, leading to protests against Haasan in various parts of the state, including Belagavi, Mysore, Hubli and Bengaluru.
