Talking about Kalki 2898 AD, Kamal Haasan said, "We are seeing many signs that Indian cinema is moving towards global entertainment and Kalki 2898 AD is one of them. Nag Ashwin has carefully handled the subject of mythology without any religious bias. Across the world, only Japan, China, and Greek civilizations can come close to the Indian heritage of storytelling. Ashwin has picked stories from there and has executed them with a lot of patience by bringing it all together."

Praising Amitabh Bachchan at the same press conference, Kamal Haasan said, "I don't know if I should call him a veteran or a new actor. He has done the film so well. It feels like the film has been made for children. Now, don't ask how a white-haired man can enjoy such films. This film reminds you of the child hidden within every adult. It is a great effort and I am happy to be a part of it. I am happy that this journey is going to continue."

Amitabh is playing the role of Ashwatthama in the film. Kamal is playing the role of Supreme Yaskin, who is considered the declared deity of the complex. Kalki 2898 A.D. also stars Deepika Padukone, Prabhas, and Disha Patani. Mrinal Thakur, Vijay Deverakonda, and Dulquer Salmaan have also done cameos in the film. Prabhas' science-fiction film 'Kalki 2898 A.D.' is wreaking havoc at the box office in the country and around the world. The film has made tremendous collections worldwide in two days. The film has been successful in collecting Rs 280 crore worldwide in two days. While the film collected Rs 191 crore worldwide on the first day, it collected around Rs 85-90 crore on the second day.
