Bollywood actress Kangana Ranaut's film 'Emergency' was released in theaters on 17 January 2025. Before the release of Emergency, the film faced CBFC challenges and ban demands from various political and religious groups. In a recent interview to promote her political drama, Kangana Ranaut shared how she also faced financial struggles while making Emergency.

Actually, during an interview, Kangana Ranaut shared how the producers and OTT platforms refused support, after which she had to mortgage her house to make Emergency. She said, "Of course I had financial problems while making the film".

Continuing her point, the actress further said, "Many people backed out. No one was buying it. No OTT platform was ready to buy it. I had to mortgage my house to make the film".
When cases were filed against Kangana
Kangana Ranaut also talked about the days when people filed cases against her. The actress further said, "I never had a PR team to promote myself. But people hired PR to damage my image. They filed random cases against me and called me a psycho, witch, stalker. They said a lot of bad things about me. No one speaks about a woman like this".
'Emergency' banned in Punjab
Let us tell you that on Thursday, 16 January 2025, Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee (SGPC) President Harjinder Singh Dhami wrote a letter to Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann demanding a ban on the film in the state after its release. The committee also protested across the state against the screening of the film. In his letter to CM Bhagwant Mann, Dhami wrote against the release of Emergency in the state, saying, "If the film is released on January 17, it will create anger in the Sikh community, which is natural."
'Emergency' was earlier scheduled to release on 6 September
Written and directed by Kangana Ranaut, 'Emergency' also stars Anupam Kher, Mahima Chaudhary, Milind Soman, Shreyas Talpade, Vishak Nair and late Satish Kaushik in pivotal roles. Produced by Zee Studios and Manikarnika Films, the film's music is composed by Sanchit Balhara and GV Prakash Kumar, while the screenplay and dialogues are written by Ritesh Shah. Kangana Ranaut is playing the role of former Prime Minister Indira Gandhi in the film. The film was earlier scheduled to release on September 6.
