Saif Ali Khan has been a topic of discussion ever since he was attacked, while new updates have been coming out on the investigation related to the actor since the attack. In a recent update on the attack on Saif Ali Khan's Mumbai residence on January 16, forensic analysis has confirmed that the fingerprints of suspect Bangladeshi national Shariful Islam match the fingerprints found at the actor's house. However, the final report of the fingerprint investigation is still pending. Police officials have confirmed that two employees present at Saif Ali Khan's residence have identified Shariful Fakir as the attacker who broke into the actor's house.
Identified the intruder
Meanwhile, according to India Today, Saif Ali Khan's staff members, Alayama Philip and Aya Juru, identified the intruder in the January 16 incident. They confirmed that 30-year-old suspect Shariful Islam was responsible for attacking both the actor and his staff. As part of the investigation, a lineup was conducted during which the suspect was placed among others for identification. First responders were able to successfully identify Shariful.
However, it is still not clear whether the authorities will also include the actor in the identification process. Facial recognition has confirmed the match, but results of fingerprint and blood analysis are still awaited. Last month, the city police said that facial recognition tests confirmed a match between the arrested Bangladeshi suspect accused of attacking Saif Ali Khan with a knife and a man captured in CCTV footage from the Satguru Sharan building in Bandra, where the actor lives.
Shariful allegedly barged into the Bollywood star's 12th-floor apartment on the morning of January 16, stabbed him six times and then fled, officials said. Following the attack, 54-year-old Saif Ali Khan was admitted to Lilavati Hospital where he underwent two surgeries. He was discharged from the private hospital on January 21. Saif's wife, along with other family members including actress Kareena Kapoor Khan, Sara Ali Khan and Ibrahim Ali Khan stood as a strong pillar of support for him.
Work Front
Meanwhile, on the work front, Saif Ali Khan will next be seen in Jewel Thief: The Heist Begins. The teaser of the film was recently released during Netflix's Next on Netflix event.
