Mustafizur Rahman IPL 2026: Bollywood's King KhanShah Rukh Khan is embroiled in a major controversy these days. He acquired Bangladeshi fast bowler Mustafizur Rahman for his team Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) in the IPL 2026 auction, but this decision sparked both sporting and political and social debate. Former BJP MLA Sangeet Som and several religious leaders and storytellers strongly criticized this move. Following the controversy, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) directed the Kolkata Knight Riders to release Mustafizur Rahman from their roster. The BCCI stated that the team would be allowed to replace the player.

What is the reason for the controversy?
A few days ago, two Hindu youths were mob-lynched in Bangladesh. Both were brutally murdered. Videos of this incident went viral on social media, angering the Indian public. The uproar grew, and some on social media began demanding that if this was happening to Hindus in Bangladesh, how could their players come to India and play for such huge sums? Demands arose to ban Bangladeshi players (Mustafizur Rahman IPL 2026) from the IPL. The controversy escalated further when Devkinandan Thakur called Shah Rukh Khan anti-India and anti-Hindu. BJP leader Sangeet Som called him a traitor.
