Akkineni Nagarjuna: After Aishwarya Rai, Abhishek Bachchan, and Karan Johar, Telugu superstar Nagarjuna Akkineni has also approached the Delhi High Court to protect his personality rights. The move comes amid growing concerns over the misuse of celebrity identity in the entertainment industry. The matter is being heard by a bench headed by Justice Tejas Karia, who will pronounce the verdict on this crucial issue.
Delhi High Court said this
Let us tell you, the Delhi High Court on Thursday, September 25, said that it will pass an order to protect the personality and publicity rights of Telugu actor Akkineni Nagarjuna (Akkineni Nagarjuna plea say), and prevent entities from commercially using his name, image, and voice without his consent. Justice Tejas Karia said that the court will also direct the removal of URLs that violate actor Nagarjuna's personality and publicity rights. Justice Karia said, "When you can identify the URLs... the best thing would be to direct their removal... we will pass the order."
Nagarjuna's lawyer made this claim
In his suit, represented by senior advocate Vaibhav Gaggar, advocates Praveen Anand and Dhruv Anand, Nagarjuna had claimed that his persona was being misused to sell goods for illegal commercial purposes, his image was being manipulated in pornographic content, and artificial intelligence was being used to create videos on YouTube.
Many stars have filed cases for personality rights.
Earlier, Amitabh Bachchan, Aishwarya, Abhishek Bachchan, Anil Kapoor, and other Bollywood celebrities had approached the Delhi High Court for personality rights, but the court had ordered that their names should not be used without permission.
