What is Operation Sindoor?
Let us tell you that on the morning of Wednesday, 7 May 2025, the Government of India issued an official statement, writing, "A short while ago, the Indian Armed Forces launched 'Operation Sindoor', under which terrorist infrastructure in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Jammu and Kashmir was targeted, from where terrorist attacks against India were planned and directed. In total, nine (9) sites have been targeted. Our action has been focused, measured and non-provocative. No Pakistani military establishment has been targeted. India has shown great restraint in the selection of targets and the manner of execution. These steps have been taken in the wake of the barbaric terrorist attack in Pahalgam, in which 25 Indians and one Nepali civilian were killed. We are living up to our commitment that those responsible for this attack will be held accountable."
Indian army avenged the Pahalgam attack
For your information, let us tell you that on April 22, 2025, a horrific mass shooting took place in the Baisaran grassland near Pahalgam in Anantnag district of Jammu and Kashmir. In this attack, popularly known as the Pahalgam massacre of Hindu tourists, terrorists belonging to The Resistance Front (TRF) opened fire on a group of Hindu tourists. At least 26 people were killed and more than 20 were injured in this deadly attack. At the same time, now the Indian Army has avenged the Pahalgam attack. The official handle of the Indian Army had earlier posted, "Justice done. Jai Hind," confirming the action. Many politicians, including Union Minister Kiren Rijiju and Bandi Sanjay Kumar, also reacted by praising the armed forces for avenging the Pahalgam victims. At least 17 terrorists were killed and 60 others were injured as a result of Operation Sindoor of the Indian Armed Forces. The strikes targeted key terror infrastructure in Pakistan-occupied Kashmir and Pakistan, with precision strikes in areas including Kotli, Ahmedpur Sharqia, Muzaffarabad, Muridke and Faisalabad.
