Akshay Kumar and Veer Pahariya's patriotic film Sky Force held a press conference on January 20th in New Delhi. The conference saw the presence of the film's lead actors, Akshay Kumar and Veer Pahariya, along with filmmaker Amar Kaushik and producer Dinesh Vijan. At the event, Akshay Kumar was seen wearing a red checkered shirt paired with black jeans, while Veer sported black pants and a black t-shirt, completing his look with a yellow jacket.
At the start of the event, the host asked Akshay and Veer some questions about the film.
You have portrayed several ‘portrait characters’ in your film career. What message do you think this sends to the current generation?
Akshay Kumar’s Answer
The most important message that comes from this film is dialogue, and it aligns with the belief of the Indian Air Force that they will never leave any of their soldiers behind. This is the essence of the entire story of the film. When you watch it, you will understand more about what it truly means.
Host’s Question to Veer Pahariya
Debuting with Sky Force is a big opportunity, and playing the role of Squadron Leader Ajjamada Boppayya Devayya is a huge responsibility. You are also portraying a national hero in this film. How did you prepare for this role?
Veer Pahariya’s Answer:
In this film, I had the chance to portray a real-life hero, which was both a huge challenge and an opportunity for me. Squadron Leader Ajjamada Boppayya Devayya was a brave man who showed valor during the 1965 war. It was my privilege to play this role, and just last week, we met Squadron Leader Boppayya Devayya's wife. It was a very overwhelming moment for me. We made this film with a lot of pride and respect, and I pray to God that everyone loves it.
Media Round Question to Akshay Kumar
A journalist asked Akshay, "If you weren’t an actor today, would you be serving the nation?"
Actually, that was my plan. I was about to join the Navy, but life… as fate would have it, I ended up in martial arts, then modeling, and eventually acting. If I hadn’t become an actor, or if I hadn’t become an army officer, I would still be struggling.
What was the most challenging part of shooting Sky Force?
I think the most challenging part was wearing the helmet and doing the cockpit scenes, which were quite heavy. We had to wear them for about 8 hours a day, which caused a lot of neck pain. Additionally, we wore heavy jackets, and we were constantly sweating. I think that was the toughest part of the shoot.
Akshay Praises Veer’s Performance
During the conference, Akshay was asked about Veer’s debut film and how well he portrayed the role of a soldier. Akshay responded, “I’ve seen many great soldiers in films, but Veer has done an exceptional job. From the very beginning, he didn’t try to overshadow anyone. He understood the importance of learning and taking a step back when needed. It takes a lot of thought and a sharp mind to do that.”
A journalist asked Akshay, "If you weren’t an actor, would you have served the country?" Akshay revealed, "That was actually my plan. I was supposed to join the Navy, but life took me in a different direction. I got into martial arts, then modeling, and eventually acting. If I hadn’t become an actor or an army officer, I’d probably still be struggling today."
Akshay Talks About Salman Khan and Saif Ali Khan’s Incident
Akshay was also asked about his delayed meeting with Salman Khan at the Bigg Boss finale. He clarified, “Salman didn’t arrive late. I got there on time, and he told me he’d be 35-40 minutes late because of some personal work. We had a quick chat, and since I had to leave, we agreed to catch up later.”
On the recent attack on Saif Ali Khan, Akshay expressed his relief, saying, "It’s a great thing that Saif is safe. We’re all happy that he’s okay. It was incredibly brave of him to protect his family, and I salute him for that. I’ve worked with Saif in Main Khiladi Tu Anari, and the next time we work together, we’ll call it Do Khiladi."
Veer on Akshay’s Influence
Veer spoke about how Akshay’s discipline and dedication have inspired him: “Akshay sir has always motivated us with his fitness, dedication, and discipline. Our call times were early, and we would often wrap up 8 hours ahead of schedule. But when sir is on set, he’s fully immersed in the moment. He creates a positive atmosphere, and many times, the entire unit was emotionally moved. There were days when the whole crew cried because of the environment he fostered.”
Veer also shared a personal moment: “Nine years ago, when I worked on Airlift, I met Akshay Kumar and Nimrat Kaur as a fan. Now, I’m sharing screen time with them, and it’s a huge honor. I will continue to work hard, just as I have over the years, and I hope to prove that I am deserving of this opportunity.”
Dinesh Vijan on the Film’s Impact
Producer Dinesh Vijan, during the press conference, said, "We always begin our films in Delhi. We came here early this morning to kick off the promotion. Talking about the film, I told Akshay sir that for any filmmaker, the most satisfying feedback comes after the film is complete. I feel that satisfaction now, and we are incredibly proud of this film. It’s been a long time since a movie like this has touched people’s hearts."
On Maddock’s Shift in Genre
When asked about Maddock Films’ transition from horror-comedy to patriotic films like Sky Force, Dinesh explained, “Maddock has always strived to create unique content. We want our projects to feel fresh and different. The audience is now familiar with many genres, and they are looking for new content. We don’t want to limit ourselves to just one genre, whether it’s horror-comedy or patriotism. We have directors from various parts of India, and we focus on the subject matter rather than being tied to one genre. When a story comes to us, we feel it must be told. Sky Force was one of those stories. It needed to be told, and we wanted to present it in a way that leaves a positive impact on society while still being entertaining and responsible.”

Amar Kaushik
Director Amar Kaushik shared, “I loved the script of this film, but I was busy with another project at that time. Eventually, we came together to make it happen."
Sky Force is set to release on January 24, 2025, and promises to be an exciting, emotional, and patriotic film that will leave a lasting impression on its audience.
