Sharda Sinha's son gave the information

Anshuman Sinha, son of folk singer Sharda Sinha, famous for her famous Chhath songs, shared the heartbreaking news of her demise on her official Facebook page. He posted a picture of the beloved folk singer and captioned it, "Your prayers and love will always be with Maa. Chhathi Maiya has called her to her. Maa is no longer among us in physical form."

Sharda Sinha sang many folk songs

Born on October 1, 1952 in Samastipur, Bihar, Sharda Sinha was deeply connected to folk culture, which inspired her to venture into regional music. Her renditions of folk songs like "Kahe To Se Sajna", "Pania Ke Jahaj Se Palataniya Ban Ahiya Ho Rama" and "Sasu Ji Se Nanad Ji Lai Devar Babu" were hits across the country. Sinha's music not only celebrated the cultural richness of Bihar but also brought the beauty of Bhojpuri and Maithili traditions to audiences across the world, making her a household name and a symbol of pride for Bihar.
