Anshuman Sinha, son of folk singer Sharda Sinha, famous for her famous Chhath songs, shared the heartbreaking news of her demise on her official Facebook page. He posted a picture of the beloved folk singer and captioned it, "Your prayers and love will always be with Maa. Chhathi Maiya has called her to her. Maa is no longer among us in physical form."

Born on October 1, 1952 in Samastipur, Bihar, Sharda Sinha was deeply connected to folk culture, which inspired her to venture into regional music.
