Shabana Azmi gave a statement on not having children, said- 'It is difficult to accept this...'

Not only this, recently Shabana Azmi spoke openly about not having children and admitted that it was difficult for her to accept it.

Let us tell you that Javed Akhtar has two children Farhan Akhtar and Zoya Akhtar from his first marriage, but the famous writer-lyricist and Shabana Azmi do not have any children of their own, while talking about not having children, Shabana Azmi admitted that it was difficult for her to accept it. She said, "It is difficult to accept the fact that you cannot have children. Society makes you feel incomplete. You have to work hard to get yourself out of it. But your self-esteem should come from your work. Women often measure self-worth from their relationships. How they behave as a wife, mother daughter. For a man it is not a criterion of success but it is his career, his work that gives him the most satisfaction. I believe this should apply to all genders".

Continuing her talk, veteran actress Shabana Azmi said, "When I asked my mother Shaukat Azmi, who was an excellent housewife and wife, which role among all her roles was the most satisfying, her answer surprised me. She said that her work and appreciation for it gave her primary satisfaction. Women have to overcome patriarchal expectations. This does not mean that you should be indifferent to your duty, but make it more inclusive so that your partner also respects it".

Talking about the work front, Shabana Azmi was last seen in 'Rocky Aur Rani Ki Prem Kahani'. Directed by Karan Johar, the film also stars Alia Bhatt, Ranveer Singh, Dharmendra, Anjali Anand and Jaya Bachchan in important roles. The film, which is scheduled to release in 2023, is currently streaming on Prime Video. At the same time, Shabana Azmi will also be seen in 'Bun Tikki'.
