Shreyas Talpade Fraud Case: Supreme Court Stays Arrest, Actor Gets Major Relief

Shreyas Talpade Fraud Case: Bollywood actor Shreyas Talpade has got a big relief from the Supreme Court. The Supreme Court on Monday (July 21) granted interim protection from arrest to Shreyas Talpade in a case related to cheating and criminal breach of trust charges related to a cooperative society. A bench of Justices BV Nagarathna and KV Vishwanathan, while hearing Talpade's relief petition, issued notice to Haryana Police and others.

FIR was registered against 13 persons

Let us tell you that this case arises from an FIR lodged in Sonipat, Haryana, against 13 persons, including Shreyas Talpade and Alok Nath, who were brand ambassadors of Human Welfare Credit Cooperative Society Limited. In the complaint, the society has been accused of allegedly using celebrity advertisements to defraud investors and win their confidence.

Know what is the whole matter

In fact, earlier this year, another FIR was registered at the Gomti Nagar police station in Lucknow, alleging that Shreyas Talpade and Alok Nath were part of a scheme that defrauded 45 investors of about Rs 9 crore. The complaint also named several members of the society. The FIR in the Haryana case was registered on January 22 under sections 316(2), 318(2), and 318(4) of the Indian Penal Code, 2023 which are provisions relating to cheating and criminal breach of trust. It was based on the complaint of Vipul Antil, 37, a resident of Sonipat, who claimed that the society had promised safe investments with timely returns.
