Bollywood actress Jacqueline Fernandez's alleged boyfriend, fraudster Sukesh Chandrasekhar, has written a letter to Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman from Tihar Jail, claiming his income is legitimate and expressing his intent to pay taxes.

Sukesh  Chandrasekhar, who is also said to be the alleged boyfriend of Bollywood actress Jacqueline Fernandez, has written a letter to Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman from Tihar Jail. In the letter, he revealed details of his income and stated his intention to pay taxes.

Sukesh’s Letter

In his letter, Sukesh wrote, "I have businesses under the names of LS Holdings International and Speed Gaming Corporation. These companies are registered in Nevada, USA, and the British Virgin Islands. It is an online/offline gaming and betting business, which has been registered and profitable since 2016."

Sukesh further elaborated, “These companies made a turnover of 2.70 billion USD (22,410 crores INR) in 2024. The business is active in the USA, Spain, the UK, Hong Kong, and Dubai. According to American and British laws, my personal income from these businesses is 7,640 crores INR. I have been undergoing tax recovery proceedings from 2012 to 2019, and several appeals are pending before the courts. If a settlement is possible, I am ready to resolve it with all pending payments.”

Investment in India

Sukesh also mentioned his desire to invest in India, specifically in the technology and online skill gaming sectors, while paying taxes on his earnings. He emphasized that his income is entirely “legal” and adheres to international banking laws. Sukesh pointed out that the tax recovery action initiated by Indian authorities against his Indian income proves the legitimacy of his earnings.

In his letter, Sukesh also praised Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi, referring to him as a "great leader." Sukesh wrote, “As a proud Indian, under the great leadership of our Prime Minister Modi, I wish to contribute to the world-class development of this great nation.”

Background on Sukesh’s Legal Troubles

It is important to note that Sukesh Chandrasekhar is currently being investigated in a 200 crore INR money laundering case, involving the wives of former Ranbaxy promoters Shivinder Singh and Malvinder Singh. Delhi Police's Economic Offenses Wing and other agencies are also pursuing several other cases against him.

Given Luxury Gifts

Sukesh Chandrashekhar gifted Jacqueline Fernandez luxury items worth around ₹1 crore, including 47 designer outfits. In addition, he gave her 62 pairs of shoes and sandals, 5 expensive watches valued at approximately ₹1 crore, and 32 designer bags ranging from ₹50,000 to ₹9 lakh. He also gifted her 20 jewelry pieces, including designer rings and necklaces, 4 costly sunglasses, 3 massage chairs worth ₹60,000 each, a ₹65,000 dishwasher, 13 belts worth over ₹5 lakh, a ₹3.6 lakh dinner set, and 9 paintings.

Between February and August 2021, Jacqueline received gifts worth approximately ₹5.7 crore through Pinky Irani from Sukesh. According to the chargesheet, the total value of the gifts given to Jacqueline and her family amounts to ₹7,62,78,217.

Additionally, Sukesh gave Jacqueline a yacht named 'Lady Jacqueline' for her birthday last year. He also pledged to donate ₹15 crore for the relief of landslide victims in Wayanad, Kerala and promised to provide 300 homes for those affected by the tragedy.

How Sukesh Met Jacqueline

Sukesh and Jacqueline first met in June 2021 when Sukesh arranged a chartered flight to bring Jacqueline from Mumbai to Chennai. They met at the Hyatt Hotel in Chennai while Sukesh was out on parole. However, Jacqueline was unaware of his criminal activities at the time. A week after their first meeting, they met again, and their relationship developed, with Sukesh giving Jacqueline luxury gifts. Their last meeting took place on August 8, 2021.
