Every character of Ramayana was brought on screen in such a lively manner that even today we see and worship those characters in the same form. There was something wonderful in those characters as if they were incarnations of God themselves. We all must have heard from our parents and grandparents that when the episode of Ramayana used to air on TV, there used to be a curfew on the road. Everyone’s eyes were fixed on the TV just to see the replica of God.

He was the director of many famous serials

Ramayana, which has been famous since the 80s and holds the record of being the most watched serial, whose name is included in the Limca Book of Records, do you know who directed it? Let us tell you that our favorite Ramayana was directed by Ramanand Sagar Ji. Not only Ramayana, Ramanand Ji had directed many famous serials, which are very popular even today, which include serials like Vikram Aur Betal, Grandfather’s Stories, Alif Laila, Jai Ganga Maiya, and Krishna. Apart from these serials, Ramanand Ji also directed many superhit films like ‘Ghunghat’, ‘Aarzoo’, and ‘Prem Bandhan’.

Author of many stories and novels

Let us tell you that Ramanand Ji has been fond of writing tales and stories since childhood. At the age of just fourteen, one of his poems was published in a newspaper. After this, he wrote many stories and novels.

What was his real name?

Born on 29 December 1917, Ramanand ji was named Chandramouli by his maternal grandfather. Ramanand Ji was brought up by his maternal grandparents. Let us tell you that before the partition of the country, Ramanand ji also used to work as a writer and actor in Lahore. Do you know that Ramanand’s real name was not Ramanand Sagar but it was Ramanand Chopra. Let us tell you that Ramanand Ji started his career as a stage manager at Prithviraj Theatre.

Died due to illness

Let us tell you that Ramanand ji was fighting a disease like TV for a long time, during that time when he was undergoing treatment, he started writing a diary. Which he named ‘Diary Patient Key’. When this diary went to be published in the newspaper, even the editor of the newspaper was surprised after reading it, the things written by him had touched the heart of the editor. Ramanand Ji said goodbye to the world on 12 December 2005.


The family remembered

After his death, his family created a foundation in his name, called Ramanand Foundation, and on his death anniversary, his family paid tribute to him. On this occasion, all the members of the family were present and the family members worshiped together. Remembered him by lighting incense sticks and lamps. Remembering Ramanand ji, the family members had kept his photograph along with the book ‘An Epic Life’ written by him. Favorite dishes and sweets were also placed in front of the picture. Everyone offered flowers one by one and took blessings. On this occasion, all the small and big people in the house were involved. Everyone remembered him with a true and good heart with flowers and Aarti.
