When did production of Toxic begin?

In April 2018, it was reported that Yash would be working with director Geetu Mohandas for his next project after the KGF film franchise (2018–present). It was tentatively titled 'Yash 19', and production was reported to begin after Geetu finalized it as her next directorial venture. In April 2023, sources claimed that Yash and Geetu had signed on for the project, and production would begin in June. In late September 2023, Hollywood action choreographer J.J. Perry posted a photo of himself and Yash on Instagram, hinting at a possible collaboration. Soon after, Yash reportedly spent a day at music composer Charan Raj's studio, further hinting at his potential association with the project. On December 9, 2023, KVN Productions and Yash's production house, Monster Mind Creations, officially announced their collaboration with Geetu. In January 2024, cinematographer Rajeev Ravi was announced as part of the film's technical crew. On January 8, 2025, Geetu revealed that Yash was also part of the film's writing team. On December 9, 2025, Ravi Basrur was announced as the film's music composer.

When did the shooting of Toxic start?

Principal photography began in June 2024 in Bangalore. A major portion of the shooting began on August 8, 2024, on a massive 20-acre set near Bangalore, recreating the era from the 1940s to the 1970s. The production involved over 1,000 crew members and a large cast of 450 actors, including foreign extras. As part of the production process, previsualization was used to plan stunt sequences and ensure safety. Later, shooting moved to Thoothukudi, where an action sequence was filmed, while a song sequence was shot in Jaipur.
