Udaipur Files: Vijay Raj starrer ' Udaipur Files' has been stuck in censor and legal troubles for a long time. Directed by Bharat Srinet, the film will be released in theaters on August 8, 2025. Now, amid the growing controversy over the release of Udaipur Files, the film's producer Amit Jani met Information and Broadcasting Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw on August 4.
Jani Hopes Govt Will Clear Film Release Amid Ongoing Petitions
Let us tell you that, while talking to ANI, Jani said that this was the second time he was called for a meeting regarding the release of his film. He said, "We had met earlier also when Mohammad Javed and Maulana Arshad Madani filed their petitions and put forth their side, and now we have met again. We hope that the government will make a positive decision, and we will be able to release the film. At the same time, the producer said that his team is ready to agree with the government's decision. He said, "We have also added the cuts suggested earlier. We had faith in the government, and we had no problem. They are the ones raising the issues".
Udaipur Files Set for August 8 Release Pending Government Approval
Along with this, when asked whether the release of Udaipur Files will be delayed, the producer replied, "The original plan for the film's theatrical release is set for August 8, 2025. He further added, "If the government allows us to go ahead, it will release on August 8".
On which incident is Udaipur Files based?
Udaipur Files Film Udaipur tailor Kanhaiya Lal was allegedly murdered by Mohammad Riyaz and Mohammad Gaus in June 2022. The attackers later released a video claiming that he was killed after tailor Kanhaiya Lal Sharma posted in support of former BJP leader Nupur Sharma following her controversial remarks on Prophet Mohammad. The case was investigated by the NIA, and the accused were booked under the stringent Unlawful Activities Prevention Act (UAPA), besides sections of the Indian Penal Code. The case is pending in a special NIA court in Jaipur.
