Vicky Kaushal's film 'Chhava' is all set to release in theatres. In this historical drama film, Vicky is playing the role of Chhatrapati Sambhaji Maharaj. Actress Rashmika Mandana is playing the role of Chhatrapati Sambhaji Maharaj's wife Yesubai in the film. At the trailer launch of the film Chhava on Wednesday, Vicky Kaushal revealed that he was eager to play another action-packed role after Uri: The Surgical Strike.
Vicky Kaushal shared his thoughts about the film
In fact, Vicky Kaushal shared during the trailer launch event of Chawa, “The last action film I did was Uri: The Surgical Strike. After that, I was waiting to do another action film. Everything about this one was new. I didn’t know horse riding, so I trained for it. I also trained in sword, lathi and spear fighting for 6-7 months. I put on weight for the role – I went from 80 kg to almost 105 kg, gaining 25 kg for the film”.
The actor spoke on playing the role of the great Maratha emperor Chhatrapati Sambhaji Maharaj
While discussing his journey with the historical character of the great Maratha emperor Chhatrapati Sambhaji Maharaj, Vicky Kaushal said, "During the preparation, many things happened and I told Laxman sir that somewhere something is going right. Now that the work is done, I feel shy to talk about the preparation, but whatever I had in me, I gave it to this film. I feel satisfied knowing that I had nothing more to give to any other film than what I have given to this film."
Rashmika spoke on playing the role of Yesubai
During the event, Rashmika Mandanna expressed her gratitude for playing the role of Yesubai. She said, "As a South girl, it is an honour for me to play the role of Maharani. Yesubai is the most special and unique role in my life. I was just telling Lakshman sir that after this, I feel satisfied enough to retire".
The film Chhava will be released on February 14
Chhava is a historical drama that revolves around the life of Chhatrapati Sambhaji Maharaj, son of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj. In the film, Vicky Kaushal is going to play the role of Chhatrapati Sambhaji Maharaj, the eldest son of the founder of the Maratha Empire. Apart from Vicky Kaushal and Rashmika Mandanna, the film also stars Akshay Khanna, Ashutosh Rana and Divya Dutta in lead roles. The film Chhava will be released in theaters on 14 February 2025.
