Vyjayanthimala's Timeless Devotion: Dancing for Lord Ram at 90
Even at the age of 90, Vyjayanthimala shows her love for her art. Let us tell you that some time ago Vyjayanthimala had presented her dance in Ayodhya and also had darshan of Lord Shri Ram along with his family at the Ram temple. On the occasion of this dance, Vyjayanthimala presented acting, expressions, and postures on 'Sitaram Shlokam'.
For information, let us tell you that the list of people receiving Padma Vibhushan this year was released in January itself. After her name appeared on this list, Vyjayanthimala expressed her desire to meet respected Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi through a letter. Some time ago, when Modi ji went to Chennai, he met Vyjayanthimala and her family on this occasion and also asked about their health and dance.
Vyjayanthimala, who was awarded Padma Shri and later Padma Vibhushan, was asked in a newspaper interview some time ago, when Asha Parekh and Waheeda Rehman were honored with the Dadasaheb Phalke Award, did they think that now they too would be honored with the Phalke Award? Will be honored with. In response to this, Vyjayanthimala says, "To be honest, I have no desire for the Phalke Award now. I am very proud of the Padma Vibhushan, at the age of 90 I do not want anything more than this."
Although Vyjayanthimala has worked with many heroes in her 20-year career, she finds her pairing best with Dilip Kumar, and Dilip Kumar's wife Saira Banu also agrees with this. The reason for this was that most of her hit films were with Dilip Kumar. Some of Vyjayanthimala’s hit films with Dilip Kumar include 'Devdas', 'Madhumati', 'Ganga-Jamuna', 'Paigam', 'Leader', 'Naya Daur' and ‘Sangharsh’.
Even at this age, Vyjayanthimala Mala's love for her art is visible from the fact that she still spends most of her time researching Bharatnatyam dance.
