Beautiful actress-model Ankita Lokhande, who is now being highly appreciated for her de-glam role as ‘Yamunabai’ in actor-director Randeep Hooda's engaging just-released bio-pic movie Swantantra Veer Savarkar said she is very grateful to her loyal fans, theatre audiences and film-critics.

''Fakt Mahilao Mate,' will bring families back to theatres,

The hard-hitting candid slice-of-history movie is co-produced by Anand Pandit, Zee Studios, Sandeep Singh, Yogesh Rahar and also by celeb-writer-director-lead actor Randeep Hooda ( of  2016 year ' Sarabjit' movie title-role fame).

Ankita Transforms for Role in Historical Film 'Yamunabai'

Ankita Lokhande as Yamunabai from 'Swatantrya Veer Sawarkar'

Explains style-icon Ankita, “ As a dedicated actress, my priority has always been to play meaningful, intense roles which challenge me to step out of my glamorous comfort-zone. This historical role of ‘Yamunabai’     (wife of legendary revolutionary freedom-fighter ‘Veer Savarkar who was a staunch supporter of Hindutva, Akhanda Bharat vision and armed revolution to protest against sadistic slavery under British regime ) was a creative challenge for me because it was my ‘total transformation’  with very little make-up and I was wearing simple authentic costumes of that historical 19th-century era. Also, the Yamunabai character graph-span-age was from 16 years to 60 years. My director and lead actor Randeep Hooda who played my screen-husband Veer Savarkar was of great help in bringing out my best acting ability. As everyone knows by now,  dedicated debut-director Randeep-jee is a passionate, intense actor and he even lost 30 kgs weight to look slim-thin and convincingly play the Savarkar title-role. It was such a pleasure working with Rendeep  ” shares light-eyed Ankita who was also appreciated in her last OTT short film project ‘The Last Coffee’. and she was declared third runner-up in recent reality show “Bigg Boss 17’

Ankita: Choosing Roles Wisely, Not Part of the Rat Race

Initially, Randeep said that Ankita was  "too pretty" to play Yamunabai Savarkar character. However Ankita clarified  that Randeep had said it jestfully ( in masti-mazaak)  and not seriously, Recently. Ankita said that “money was never my top priority and I don’t give much importance to the fees and remuneration provided I am excited about the role and have faith in the subject, the director and the banner. If  genuinely required I am also ready to do films and shows for even free, but the role should be exclusive, meaningful and memorable . Having said that, I believe that you need to ask for what you want. And actresses  particularly, should ask for what they deserve..Whatever comes my way, I will pick the best out of the lot. I am very choosy and pick my work wisely. But I am not part of the crazy rat-race. I may make errors, but that's going to be my decision only.” says the outspoken yet sensitive Ankita. It may be recalled that Ankita shot to popular fame with the  landmark TV  show Pavitra Rishta opposite ‘late’ star-actor Sushant Singh Rajput who used to be her 'good friend'. .The versatile Ankita ( now happily married to handsome businessman Vikas Jain) has  also acted in films like Baaghi-3 and Manikarnika-The Queen of Jhansi.
