Celebrity Stylist Akshay Tyagi Set to Shine at Cannes 2024

The style maestro will be working his magic on lifestyle content creator & entrepreneur- Diipa Büller-Khosla and Indian male beauty content creator Ankush Bahuguna. With Tyagi’s fresh take on fashion, unique vision, and unparalleled creativity, he is set to leave an indelible mark on the red carpet.

"Being a part of the Cannes Film Festival is always exciting," says Akshay Tyagi. "This year, I look forward to styling new-age content creators like Diipa and Ankush, who have broken the shackles of age-old belief systems and created a niche for themselves. Styling them has been an exciting experience and a large sense of pride as I look back on the evolution of fashionable dressing and inclusivity, which I always choose to support. Consciously crafting narratives around the looks is an important part of my process.”

For Ankush, I have planned a roster of younger and emerging designers who resonate with the vision that he champions and even customized his main carpet look with one of my favorite upcoming menswear labels. As for Diipa, I have always admired her tenacity and confidence in her various avatars and to collaborate with her on a key red-carpet moment is an exciting experience. You’ll have to wait to see it but with the amazing help of one of the top designers of India we have created a moment that I can’t wait to share!”

Post Cannes, Akshay will be jet-setting to attend Paris and Milan Men’s Fashion Week too, representing himself as a key sartorial voice in the industry not just in India but at a global scale.

Having worked for over a decade between Bollywood and Tollywood, he has collaborated on over 25 feature films and several short-format projects. Some of the key highlights of his professional journey include curating the wardrobe for India’s leading drag artiste Rani KoHEnur(Sushant Divgikar) for the internationally televised show ‘Queen of The Universe and RuPaul’s DragCon, dressing leading actresses Mouni Roy and Pooja Hegde for the Cannes Film Festival in the previous years, alongside working on costume design for Aditya Roy Kapur for ‘The Night Manager’- the most viewed OTT Series in 2023 and soon-to-be-released film ‘BunTikki’ featuring Abhay Deol directed by Faraz Ansari.

Akshay is known for donning several sartorial hats be it styling for red carpet to movies and events or launching his own outerwear lifestyle brand ‘Happiness Within’. He is constantly questioning the cross-cultural influences and dynamics, between the west and east, in both his work, design and cultural histories.
