Panchayat Season 4: Jitendra Kumar Reacts to Deleted Kissing Scene with Sanvikaa

The fourth season of Panchayat, one of India's most popular web series (Web Series Panchayat), was released recently, and soon after this, season 5 was also announced. But there was a lot of discussion on social media about a kissing scene in season 4, which was finally removed from the show. Actress Sanvika recently talked about this scene in an interview and now actor Jitendra Kumar has also given his reaction on this whole matter in a conversation with the media.

What was the matter?

Sanvika, who plays the character of 'Rinki' in the show, had told Just Too Filmy in an interview some time ago that she had refused to do a kissing scene. She said, "I was nervous about this scene because I did not know how the audience would react and I was not comfortable myself. So I refused it. Later it was removed and the tank scene was inserted."

Jitendra Kumar's answer

On this issue, the lead actor of the show, Jitendra Kumar, said in an interview with the media, "I think Sanvika's statement was taken a little wrongly. When the scene was discussed, I told the makers to first get her consent. Her comfort was most important." He further said, "We wanted to shoot this scene in such a way that both the characters were about to kiss each other and then the lights went off, which would make it a comic situation. But in the end, it was shot differently."

Did Jeetendra have any objection to the kissing scene?

On this question, Jitendra clarified, "I kissed Ayushmann Khurrana in Shubh Mangal Zyada Saavdhan and have done onscreen kissing scenes with many actresses before this. I personally have no problem. But it is important for me that the scene fits the story and connects with the audience." Praising Sanvika, Jitendra said, "She is very honest and professional. Whatever she said about the scene, those were her personal views and we should respect them."

Jitendra Kumar, Neena Gupta, Raghubir Yadav, Faisal Malik, Chandan Roy, Sanvika, and many other actors have given memorable performances in this show. The first three seasons of the show (Panchayat All Season) were a huge success and the fourth season (Panchayat Season 4) also received a good response from the audience, although some mixed reactions were seen among the critics. The makers have recently confirmed that Panchayat Season 5 will be released on Prime Video in the year 2026. It is expected that this season will add more depth to the story and give a new direction to the chemistry of Rinki and Sachiv Ji.
