He said, "I am at that stage of my career where I want to do something that I have never done before. I have done a kind of non-fiction work in a film called Slumdog Millionaire, which was a global success. I have done films, OTT, and TV, and this was something that I had not done, so I thought why not try it? I am excited and very happy to do it." He also said, "Anything can happen in life, you should be prepared. You should never be afraid of failure. If I was afraid, I would not have survived for 45 years today."

Given that big names have been associated with the show in the past, Anil shared that if he ever had to participate in a show like Bigg Boss, he would want Kapil Sharma and Salman Khan as his fellow contestants, and would also want Amitabh Bachchan to host that season. Given the controversial nature of the show, Anil was asked how he plans to deal with the everyday controversies. He said, “In the past, the biggest stalwarts have hosted Bigg Boss, and after the show, they have got more respect. It is up to you how you handle those controversies, there are times when someone gets into a situation where he should get the real smell of the show and you too, so it depends on every person.”
