Rakul Preet Singh cast in bold role of ‘condom-tester’ in upcoming movie ‘Chhatriwali’ ?

If insiders are to be believed, the ravishing hot-babe actress Rakul Preet Singh has finally signed her first solo female centric project which is supposedly a bold, quirky one - Chaitanya Padukone

After playing the romantic lead in Ayushmann Khurrana starrer ‘Doctor G’. the ‘Marjaavaan’ and ‘De De Pyaar De’ oomph-oozing heroine Rakul has reportedly been finalised for a social comedy, produced by Ronnie Screwvala’s RSVP banner which has her playing the role of a ‘condom-tester’ in it.

While not much is known about it right now, news is trickling out that noted Marathi filmmaker Tejas Vijay Deoskar who directed Bucket List will probably be helming the project.

While the film had no title till now, the makers have apparently locked a tentative name ‘Chhatriwaali’.

This has nothing to do with the rainy season or umbrellas. That’s because condom is also called Chhatri ( besides few other code-names) in local tapori slang language.

Since stunningly pretty ( and instagram super-sensation) Rakul Preet plays the bohemian role of a condom tester, this film has been given the title.

While Sardar Ka Grandson happens to be Rakul's debut digital project, it was planned as a theatrical release initially.

But Chhatriwaali is being ideated as a direct-to-OTT release, much like RSVP's Dhamaka The movie Chhatriwaali is a quirky drama that also aims at de-stigmatizing the use of contraceptive-condoms.

Most Indians are still shy and nervous while buying condoms or even while uttering the word when they visit the neighborhood Chemist’s shop.

The film is expected to be quite bold but with a humorous take on the same, much like ‘Dream Girl’ or ‘Vicky Donor’.

Before the film landed on Rakul's lap, it was reportedly offered to Sara Ali Khan and Ananya Panday who both declined the role.

While Sara refused the film after the narration, Ananya and her team felt that the concept and the role was too bold for her.

A ‘sexecutive’ or condom tester is a special executive employee hired by condom brands to test the quality of their products before they are released to the market.

On the work front, Rakul was last seen in Telugu movie Manmadhudu 2. She has Kamal Haasan’s Indian 2, Sivakarthikeyan’s sci-fi film Ayaalan, Nithiin’s Check and Ajay Devgn’s MayDay in her acting kitty.

Not many are aware that Rakul Preet shares her birthday (Oct 10th) with iconic ageless actress Rekha.
