Air Force engineer A.B. Devaye was martyred in the 1965 war. Now producers Dinesh Vijan, Jyoti Deshpande and Amar Kaushik have brought a patriotic film 'Sky Force' based on him. Which was released on 24 January. In the film, her name was kept as Smriti T K Vijaya. The names of other characters have also been changed. Now I don't know what is the point of changing names. What is the name of the original story written with cinematic freedom? The person who took an active interest in Dev's house was Group Captain O.P. Taneja. His efforts bore fruit when Devaiah became the first and only Indian Air Force officer to be awarded the Mahavir Chakra posthumously in 1988. It was in this frequency that A.V. Devaiah was martyred while saving his comrades. He was awarded the 'Mahavir Chakra' 23 years later in Meerut.

Story

l

The story of the film begins in 1971, when the Pakistan Air Force suddenly attacked the Indian airbase. The Indian orchestra captured a terrorist pilot Ahmed Hussain (Sharad Kelkar) in the retaliatory attacks. Wing Commander K.O. Ahuja (Akshay Kumar) of the Indian Air Force is ready to interrogate Ahmed. In this interrogation, it is told that Ahmed was convicted after the 1965 Sargodha attacks. Ahuja's disbelief gives rise to doubt and also gets the first clue. The story then moves back 6 years to 1965. The 1965 war was the first instance of air attack by both countries. Pakistan had received 12 F-104 Starfighter jets, which were considered superior to India's fleet of Folland Gnats and Dassault Mr.PTs. However, the failure of Group Captain K.O. Ahuja (Akshay Kumar) is not a machine, but a pilot, who is the result of air war.

In 1965, Wing Commander O. Ahuja is posted at Adampur Airbase where his comrades are preparing for war. These include T. Vijaya (Veer Mountainia) and others. In Vijaya, Ahuja gets a vision of his martyred brother. Vijaya is a rebellious young officer who is passionate about doing anything for the country.

On 5 September 1965, Indian airbases attack Pakistan, in which many young men are killed. After this, India is burning in the fire of revenge and with the help of its weak air partners, the second day is started with the Air Force in iron. Skyforce Mission Ahuja is planned to destroy the modern and new technology aircrafts of United Pakistan in Sargodha. India achieves success, but one partner gets lost in this mission. It is none other than T Vijaya. After this accident, what is the turn of White Commander Ahuja's life, what is the fate of the family and the search for Vijaya gains momentum.

Review

k

Abhishek Anil Kapoor and Sandeep Kelwani, who were assistants to director Amar Kaushik, have taken up the responsibility of directing the film. Out of these two directors, Sandeep Kelwani has also contributed to the writing along with three other writers. Despite four writers, the film is not able to set the right standards. The script of the film moves forward with hiccups. When the story of a brave warrior and martyr is told, it is natural for bravery, sentimentality and nationalism to come in it. Such stories are liked by every viewer, they touch the heart. Due to this, it is natural to get attached to the film. But the reality is that the film is quite a mess before the interval. Due to the stupidity of the script writers, there is a smell of bad writing, foolish characterization and dull acting till now, which can disappoint the audience. The character of the prisoner of war Pakistani soldier Ahmed has not been written properly. After the interval, when Ahuja is ready to search for Vijay, some excitement is created. And the audience also gets emotionally attached to the film.

l
This film is Shaheed Devaiya, that is, according to the name in the film, Shaheed Vijay, but due to the writers and directors being completely confused, this film becomes about Akshay Kumar's character K O Ahuja. The audience also gets confused whether they have come to see the story of Shaheed Vijay or Ahuja. That means there is a lot of confusion in the story as well. In such a situation, the audience is not able to connect with the film on an emotional level. Not only this, while watching this film, the audience remembers the English film 'Top Gun'. One feels pity on the writers' mental thinking, when they give nicknames of 'Cockroach' apart from Panther, Bull, Tabby, to the brave soldiers of the Air Force. The way the character of Cockroach has been portrayed, we doubt whether the Air Force would make such a person a part of its army. The film has air strikes, war, fighter planes, brave air pilots and the valor and exploits of the pilots, but today's audience is aware, they know that all this is the magic of VFX and CJI. When the flights of these fighter planes go too far, the audience does not like it. Only the last 20 minutes of the film are able to connect with the audience emotionally. And the last scene of the film, when Vijaya's family is awarded the 'Mahavir Chakra', the eyes of the audience become moist. Perhaps the writer and director repeat the song 'Ae mere watan ke logon bhar lo aakhon mein paani...' composed by Lata Mangeshkar and written by Kavi Pradeep to hide their failure. Perhaps the filmmaker tells the audience to cry now. The masala that the common audience needs is completely missing in this. The music is also weak.
The writer and director can be praised for the fact that they have definitely succeeded in giving a subtle political message through their film. Some dialogues and some scenes of the film seem very preachy. For example, there is a dialogue when the director O Ahuja introduces himself to a Pakistani officer as 'Tera baap, Hindustan'. The item number definitely looks bad in a film that tells the story of a martyr.

Acting

,

l

As far as acting is concerned, there has been no change in Akshay Kumar. He has definitely learned some mannerisms for the character of this film. Otherwise, he stands erect in every scene with a flat face in his usual style. At least Akshay Kumar should stay away from films for three to four months and do theatre and search for his acting ability afresh. But he should refrain from doing this. Akshay Kumar is not able to impress with his acting in any scene. This is Veer Pahariya's  first film in the role of martyr Vijaya. He has got very few such scenes where his acting ability can be assessed. When you are flying a plane while sitting in a fighter plane, then what action, what acting. His acting lacks the passion and adrenaline required for such a role. Anyway, Veer Pahariya is not a hero material. Sara Ali Khan also did not have much to do in the role of Vijaya's wife. But it seems that Sara Ali Khan has done this film reluctantly. The scenes when she is pregnant cannot be called correct, she just looks fat. Maybe the writer, director and Sara Ali Khan have never seen a pregnant woman in their life. Devayya and his wife Sundari were from South India, but Sara Ali Khan does not look South Indian in the role of Geeta. Secondly, Veer Pahariya has been Sara Ali Khan's ex-lover in her personal life, despite this, the lack of emotional connection between the two in any scene on the cinema screen is disturbing. Nimrat Kaur also did not get anything to do, Sharad Kelkar leaves his mark in the small role of Ahmed Hussain. Other actors are fine.

In the end

The budget of the film is three and a half hundred crores, where will this money come from? Moreover, from 24 to 26 January, the audience will get a discount of Rs 250 on every ticket, provided they buy the ticket from 'Book My Show'. We will talk about this discount in a separate article.
