With Chandu Champion movie , fast-rising talented star-hero Kartik Aaryan successfully breaks free from his romantic-comedy image to play the multi-talented Padma Shri awardee Murlikant Petkar, on screen ! A spectrum of contrast characters all combined in one role of ‘Chandu’-- a macho wrestler, a tough army jawan, a rugged knock-out boxer, a disabled freestyle swimmer who wins gold and ultimately his aged grey-haired character to the big screen. After a long hiatus a passionately-made sports-film-biopic ( co-produced by ‘showman’ Sajid Nadiadwala) has been released and has appealed to the audiences.
This movie is a realistic eye-opener sports-biopic and is also a gripping entertainer with undercurrent of emotional-comedy ( Chaplinesque style ) and loads of young boyish buddy-friends camaraderie. What is significant is that the movie ‘Chandu Champion’ is highly inspirational and motivates everyone not to surrender easily and acquire the power of resilience ( bounce back) facing all adverse-crisis situations and emerge victorious..
Which is why ‘Chandu Champion’ ideally deserves ‘entertainment-tax-exemption’ from its second week onwards. With the brilliant authentic performances by Kartik Aaryan , Vijay Raaz Bhuvan Arora, Master Aayan Khan, Yashpal Sharma, Bhagyashri Borse and the rest of the cast, and excellent high-class content by cinema-champion co-writer and director Kabir Khan, the movie’ Chandu Champion’ will surely be among the top contenders for the National Film Awards categories and the various Competitive Film Awards categories to be announced in next year ( 2025)
It is entirely Kabir’s vision and Kartik’s honesty to make the film an interesting watch. Formerly known as Rajjo and Sonu, Kartik now is a proud owner of a new name— Chandu Champion. His hard work, dedication, focus is evident throughout. Since he is synonymous to rom-coms and lighter roles, Chandu is easily a novel character for him in his filmography.
