Mohammad Rafi had promised to come to Guru Dutt's house in Pali Hill to rehearse a song. The recording was scheduled for the next day. Director M. Sadiq, music composer Ravi, and Guru Dutt were waiting. Rafi did not reach there on time.

Finally, Guru Dutt sent his brother to Rafi's house in Bandra. Rafi's wife informed him that Rafi Saheb was not at home and was recording at the Film Centre, Tardeo. Dutt's brother returned home.

Guru Dutt got angry when his brother told him that Rafi was busy recording another film.

Dutt said "Rafi has an appointment with me. He had promised me"

And then he sent his brother to Tardeo to bring Rafi back in his car.

On reaching the Film Centre, Rafi waved to Dutt's brother from the cabin and asked him to wait. After the recording was completed, Rafi apologized for the delay.

Rafi said, "The producers, who have to return to Madras today, requested me at the last minute, so I had to finish it today."

Guru Dutt's brother said, "No problem, let's go now."

Rafi said, "You go ahead, I will follow you in my car."

On reaching Dutt's house, Rafi again apologized. Guru Dutt remained quiet and did not say a word.

Director M. Sadiq told Rafi, "It seems a lot of work is keeping you busy."

Rafi said, "It is nothing like that, but this film is very big. 'Sasural' and the song I have recorded today is really very good."

M. Sadiq and music director Ravi said "Really? Is that so?"

And he insisted that Rafi should sing the song about his in-laws.

Rafi sang, “May no one's evil eye fall on your lovely face…”

Rafi then asked him, "Did you like it?"

He said, "It is a very good song. But our song is much better"

Rafi smiled and said, "Every song is good if you give your best"

Finally, the rehearsal began.

The song was,  'Chaudhavin ka chand ho ya aftab ho...'

After the rehearsal, Mohammed Rafi agreed and said, "This song is definitely better."

As per the schedule, the song was recorded the next day.

“It is the fourteenth day of the moon

or be it Aftab,

Whatever you are, I swear to god

You are awesome...”
