This name Mohammed Aziz was given to him by a prominent Odia songwriter Akshaya Mohanty.
The Indian Multi-lingual playback singer who primarily sang for Bollywood, Odia films, and Bengali films, for over twenty thousand songs to count, which includes Bhajan, and Sufi Devotional songs was born in 1954 as Saikh Azad Bihar. He sang in other genres and even 10 different Indian Languages.
He started in his first ever Odia film titled Jaga Hatare Pagha directed by Mohammad Mohsin with the song Rupa Sagadi re Suna Kaniya.

He went on to sing the most number of songs for Odia or Ollywood Actor Sidhhanta Mahapatra. Later making his debut in Bollywood with films like Ambar (1984) and sang two of his prominent songs, including “Mard Tangewala”, which was composed by Anu Malik for the film Mard (1985).

He was involved with music during his childhood and later he started his professional career as a playback singer for an Ollywood film Manini (1986) under the great Odia Music Composer Radha Krushna Bhanja. He appeared on the big screen with a Bengali film titled Bouma (1986).

Later, he went to Mumbai for a better career prospect in the film industry, where he sang numerous duets in the 1980s and 1990s with some of the most prominent singers of that time, namely; Lata Mangeshkar, Asha Bhosle, K.S Chithra, Sadhana Sargam, Alisha Chinai, Usha Mangeshkar, Anuradha Paudwal, Kavita Krishnamurthy, are some of them.

Playback Singer Mohammed Aziz Dies at 64 from Cardiac Arrest

The demise of this playback singer left a dent in both the industries that he was a part of be it Bollywood or Ollywood. However, this unfortunate event was beyond his control, and even the medical facilities were present at the moment as he suffered a cardiac arrest, at the age of 64 years. While arriving from Kolkata to Mumbai on the 27th of November 2018, he subsequently collapsed and lost his life while being taken to the hospital.
