The year was 1984 . There was tension all over the country . The then Prime Minister Mrs Indira Gandhi was assassinated by her own security guards - Ali Peter John

There was violence and bloodshed all over the country and Rajiv Gandhi had been sworn in as the new Prime Minister in grim circumstances .

Amitabh Bachchan , Sunil Dutt and Vyjayanthimala contested an won the elections to the Lok Sabha . And the atmosphere continued to be tense , but everything seemed to be normal in Bollywood ...

Mahesh Bhatt who had made a name with films like " Manzilein Aur Bhi Hai" b"Vishwaasghat" and "Arth" was shooting for "Saaransh " with a new actor , Anupam Kher and Rohini Hattangadi with Madan Jain and Soni Razdan in the romantic leads .

Mahesh was having a tough time with his first wife, Kiran and was having a stormy affair with Parveen Babi and was growing into an alcoholic .

In this kind of an atmosphere , Mahesh fell in love with his actress in Saaransh, Soni Razdan and they got married after getting converted to Islam .

Soni gave birth to a daughter and that daughter is the much talked about actress Alia Bhatt today .

It was not sure if Alia would take to acting as a career , but it was Karan Johar who saw the actress in her and directed her in his film , "Student Of The Year" which made Varun Dhawan, Siddharth Malhotra and Alia Bhatt overnight stars .

Alia went on to do some good films and was genuinely recognised as a good actress with "Gully Boys" and that was the real beginning of Alias rise to superstardom among the actresses .

If Corona and now Omicron had not happened , 2020 , 21 and now 2022 would have seen Alia right on top .

She would have had major films like "Brahmastra" , " Gangubai Kathiawadi " , RRR released and they could have added glory to her career . But Corona brought her career to an abrupt halt and she was more talked about as the woman in Ranbir Kapoor's life .

But , she continued being one of the most wanted actresses ( next to Katrina Kaif and Deepika Padukone ) and proved how much she was in demand when she signed " Rocky Aur Bobby Ki Prem Kahani " with her "Gully Boy " hero , Ranveer Singh and directed by her first director , Karan Johar .

And when the fear of the Corona Virus was seemingly coming to an end , Alia was signed by Farhan Akhtar for his all - woman film , "Zara Jee Le" with Priyanka Chopra and Katrina Kaif . There were many other tempting offers Alia was considering ....

When the second virus , Omicron struck and is slowly bringing life to a standstill again and life in Bollywood is no exception . The lucky films like 83 have been released and have met their fate .

There were hopes of other films being released , like the multi - crore and multi - language film ,RRR directed by S S Rajamouli . Now , not even RRR for which crores have been already spent only on its publicity will be released as scheduled in the first week of January (the film was to be released in the beginning of 2021) .

The way Corona and Omicron are literally running a devilish race to destroy , there seems to be no chance of any film releasing soon . And the one actress who will bee affected the most is our dear Alia Bhatt .

And on the personal front , Alia was expected to marry Ranbir Kapoor in early 2021 or earlier b, but now the lovers have made it clear that they may get married only towards the end of January 2022 or later .
