Central Govt Issues Advisory Against Deepfake and Obscene Content

Ultimately the government decided to take very strict steps. After giving several instructions, the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology issued a new advisory on 26th December in which it has been said to take very strict steps. All internet mediums including WhatsApp, Instagram, Facebook, and Google have been instructed to be alert about 'prohibited' content and to provide complete information to the users.

Rules are mandatory to follow

In the new directory of the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology, it has been given a very clear warning that whatever subject has been kept in the restricted category by the IT rules, it is mandatory to follow it. This is especially true in the context of deepfake. It has been said. Let us tell you that recently many Bollywood heroines were under stress due to deep fakes. In the case of Rashmika Mandanna, many film personalities including Amitabh Bachchan had expressed their views to Information and Broadcasting Minister Shri Anurag Singh Thakur.

Rashmika Mandanna, Katrina Kaif, Deepika Padukone, Alia Bhatt deepfake

After that, there was a sensation when deepfake indecent pictures of many Bollywood stars like Katrina Kaif, Deepika Padukone, Alia Bhatt, etc. came out. After the stars were targeted, gradually news of the chaos created by deepfake in common life started coming out. Deepfake discussions of teenage girls created by AI began to reveal how many deaths have already occurred. The committee then came into action to decide how to curb the Internet and social media. The concerned ministry issued an advisory by further tightening the initiatives taken earlier and the rules. Many advisories have been issued... but till now social media and other platforms have not been fully active in following them. Some people agreed and some channels were not yet complying with the IT RULE.

Action will be taken against anything that is prohibited

Minister of State for Electronic and Information Technology Shri Rajiv Chandrashekhar

Minister of State for Electronic and Information Technology Shri Rajiv Chandrashekhar has said that all social media platforms should follow the new instructions otherwise the government will take strict action against them. The Ministry will continue to investigate in the coming weeks whether the IT Rules (IT rule 3(1) (B) are being followed or not. Under these rules, the broadcaster will provide complete information to the consumer about such content which is subject to the IT Rules. These are set to be restricted. The presenter channels will be able to show Facebook, WhatsApp, Instagram, etc. only with 'agreed'. Apart from deepfake, any content related to body privacy, child abuse, or any other content that falls in the obscene or "pornographic" category will be banned. It has been kept under the ambit of IT Rules 3(1) (B). Under this, details of things related to child sexual abuse, pornographic content, and showing advertisements of illegal loan apps and betting on the platform action-Taken-cum-status 7 must be sent within the day.

If only! Those who spread the poison of obscenity and indecency would themselves understand this!
