Sarod Maestro Ustad Amjad Khan Ali Khan along with sons, Amaan Ali Bangash and Ayaan Ali Bangash performed at the UN Day Concert 2018 in New York. India celebrated UN Day at the General Assembly Hall after 52 years. Expressed Ustad Amjad Ali Khan, "As it was a double celebration, one being the UN Day and the other, Mahatma Gandhi’s 150th birth anniversary celebrations, we planned to present a project that is organized in a manner that increases awareness amongst the youth and sends a message that Gandhiji continues to be an inspiration for future generations. Along with the finale with refugee orchestra project, we presented two very popular devotional songs that are very strongly associated with Gandhi and his quest for peace, non-violence and spirituality. Vaishnav Janato based in Raga Khammaj and Ram Dhun based in Raga Ghara. To interpret these through an instrumental version was truly an honour and a privilege.
