35 Years of Waiting and an Unfulfilled Dream
The story of ‘Lakshmi Niwas’ revolves around Lakshmi (Mansi Joshi Roy) and Srinivas (Rajendra Chawla). The couple has spent 35 years of their lives in a rented house, yet they still nurture two heartfelt dreams—owning a home of their own and securing their daughters’ future. Srinivas is an honest, responsible, and simple man who devoted his entire life to his family. In fulfilling his children’s education, their marriages, and every small and big wish of his wife Lakshmi, his own dream was always pushed aside. Now, as retirement approaches, that long-buried dream has once again become the biggest hope of his life.

The Desire for One’s Own Home
During the launch event held in Mumbai, Srinivas’s emotional words touched everyone present. He said that a home is not just four walls, but a feeling—one where all exhaustion melts away the moment you enter. However, the house they live in is rented—the keys may be theirs, but the walls belong to someone else. There is no freedom to make changes, not even to hammer a single nail at will. This unspoken pain only deepens the longing for a home of their own.

Srinivas’s Promise and Lakshmi’s Faith
At the event, actor Rajendra Chawla, who plays Srinivas, promised that the dream he shares with Lakshmi will surely be fulfilled, no matter how long it takes. His dream is of a home whose name brings tears of joy to the eyes—‘Lakshmi Niwas’.
Through Lakshmi’s character, it becomes clear that this dream is not limited to four walls, but also represents a secure future for their daughters. She believes that one day her daughters will learn to walk in the same courtyard and leave their own identity on those very walls.
Rajendra Chawla Speaks
Rajendra Chawla shared, “Srinivas is a man who has always placed his family before himself, often at the cost of his own desires. His dream of building a home is not about bricks and cement, but about providing safety, belonging, and togetherness to his loved ones. For him, a home is where values are nurtured and relationships grow stronger. What makes this story special is its truth—it reflects the everyday struggles, dilemmas, and silent sacrifices of countless middle-class fathers. I am confident that ‘Lakshmi Niwas’ will touch the hearts of viewers across generations.”

Akshita Mudgal on Family Support
On this occasion, Akshita Mudgal, who plays Radhika (Radhika), shared that supporting parents does not mean taking their side in an argument, but understanding their sacrifices, love, and dreams. Just as a father dreams of building a home, a daughter dreams of fulfilling that dream.
Produced under the banner of Rashmi Sharma Telefilms, ‘Lakshmi Niwas’ narrates the story of countless families who keep their dreams alive despite living in rented homes. It beautifully portrays how responsibilities grow silently, dreams slowly take shape, and relationships hold the family together through every hardship.
‘Lakshmi Niwas’ is not just a television show—it is a shared journey of emotions, struggles, relationships, and dreams. It is the story of everyone who lives in a rented house today but dreams of a home bearing their own name tomorrow.
