'Mera Balam Thanedaar': Colors TV Confronts Underage Marriage

The upcoming show 'Mera Balam Thanedaar' on Colors TV will feature Shagun Pandey and Shruti Chaudhary in the lead roles. This show gives the message of stopping underage marriage. Let us tell you that in the show, Shagun Pandey is playing the character of Veer who is a police officer and Shruti is playing the character of Bulbul who is a bubbly and very pure-hearted girl. Shagun's eyes filled with tears while talking about the serial and its story.

Would you like to share some memories related to Mayapuri Magazine?

Shagun- Interviewing with Mayapuri is a big deal. Mayapuri has been a part of all of our lives. We all have childhood memories associated with Mayapuri. Women read Mayapuri very heartily, and Mayapuri started giving a perspective to women. In our house, our mother and sisters used to read Mayapuri and hence we also used to read it sometimes, many good and life-related things were written in Mayapuri magazine.

The promo of your show looks very good, what would you like to say about the show and the concept of the show?

Shagun- For me, this show is giving me the feeling as if another feather has been added to my cap. This show of Colors and Shashi Sumit Production is not only entertaining but also has a very important message. Through this serial, we want to tell whether it is right to force a minor girl to marry and whether a girl develops biologically, mentally, and emotionally at such a young age. We want to say that if the woman of the house is strong then the house also becomes strong. I think women are the foundation of the house.

Tell us something about this show and your character

Shruti- This show is coming on Colors, and many people watch the Colors channel. Working on this channel is like a dream for me. It was my dream to work with Shashi Sumit Productions whose shows are huge hits, so today that dream has been fulfilled. I consider myself very fortunate that I got this opportunity. If we talk about the show, the show is very interesting, there are many variations of each character. Every character has been justified well in the show. My character's name is Bulbul, who is a bubbly girl, who likes to live life to the fullest. Bulbul is very pure at heart, she knows how to help people. He likes to help people. Even if she has to tell a lie to help someone, she tells it because Bulbul's mother says that even if she has to tell a lie to help someone, even God forgives such lies.

Shagun- The character of Bulbul has a very good friendship with God. Bulbul is not afraid of God, rather she loves God.

Shruti- When Bulbul gets married to Veer, who thinks the opposite of Bulbul, Veer believes that one should not lie, so now how Bulbul will handle this thing, will be very interesting for the audience to see.

You are playing the character of a police officer in the show, and you are seen in a completely different style in uniform, what would you like to say about how you feel in uniform?

Shagun- It is a very beautiful feeling. These uniforms and these stars remind you of very strong people, and then wearing this uniform, you feel a different power, although I am just making a creative representation of it, still you feel the power of the uniform. People stand for the people and the country even by sacrificing their family, love, and time. I am proud of the fact that I am a resident of a country whose people respect and love the army, doctors, police, and all those who work for us. To be honest, if something happens here now, my first reaction will be to save everyone, and this reaction will come because of this uniform. Even on our set, it is not called a costume, it is called a uniform, and it is not kept with other costumes, we give it a lot of importance. I think as an artist and entertainers, we also impart knowledge and hence we want the right information to reach the people. We want people to understand that policemen also have problems, they also have families, and they also have emotions. Bulbul brings a new perspective of life like a hope in Veer's life. Our women have this thing that even after getting married at such a young age, they want to maintain that marriage, even if such a big responsibility falls on them at such a young age. Girls are also a part of the family, we cannot tell them that now they can no longer bear their burden, hence they should get married and leave our house. If we can change people's thinking even a little through this show, it would be a big thing. I feel that girls whose parents consider them a burden do not even have the right to be called parents. We hope that we can change people's thinking even a little and that they start considering girls as human beings.

Shagun- We love you very much, and we also love our work very much. We are working very hard, along with entertainment we are trying to give you a lot. Do watch the show and give it a lot of love. We would hope that this message reaches as many people as possible.
