Off-Screen Masti! Shagun Pandey & Mohak Matkar play Kho Kho with the cast of Saru

Zee TV’s latest fiction drama Saru is winning hearts with its rooted narrative, powerful performances, and slice-of-life storytelling. Shagun & Mohak Turn Set Into Nostalgic Playground

While shooting the sequence, popular actors Shagun and Mohak got so immersed in the game that they decided to keep playing even during their break. What began as a choreographed sequence quickly turned into an impromptu match as more members of the cast and crew joined in. The set turned into a mini playground as everyone laughed, ran, and cheered—just like they did in school. It was a refreshing change of pace that brought back fond childhood memories for everyone involved.

Shagun Pandey said, “It honestly felt like we were transported back to our school days. Kho Kho was such a big part of my childhood, and playing it again with Mohak and the whole team was pure joy. We were running around like kids, forgetting everything else. I remember playing barefoot on dusty fields, getting scolded for coming home late, and collecting small bruises that we used to wear like trophies. Recreating that energy on set, especially with everyone joining in, was truly special. We work long hours and often forget to pause and have fun, so moments like these are a real breather. It brought the whole team closer, and I think that joy will come through on screen too.”

While the actors had their share of fun both on and off screen, the upcoming episodes of Saru are packed with high drama. Will Saru (Mohak Matkar) finally discover that she is the true granddaughter of the Bajaj family? Or will Anika (Anushka Merchande) succeed in her manipulative plans to push her out of the house?
