Producer Chitra Vakil Sharma says that she eagerly waits for the monsoons every year. She adds that it is an instant mood lifter for her.
“I eagerly wait for the rains, wet and pleasant days have finally arrived in Mumbai though it's been delayed this year. The summer heat was unbearable especially while I am on shoot. I love the monsoon season. It brings cheer and relaxation to my mind and heart. The only tradition I follow is I always get wet in the first rain,” she says.
However, she adds that the monsoons also create havoc! “Well, this year since the rains were delayed but they came with a bang, and the roof of my set got destroyed! The ceiling almost fell off with the moisture, thankfully there were no injuries. You have no choice but to deal with such a situation and the shooting goes on.” Read also: Romiit Raaj: I don’t go on holidays for the sake of posting pictures
Chitra Vakil Sharma talak about Mumbai traffic
Chitra Vakil Sharma adds, “Mumbai always has traffic, no rains, period. With metro work construction all around anyways travel time is 1 hour plus to any place with rains adding to it considering another 30mins more of traffic jams. Panicking is of no help instead I switch on to good music and enjoy the rains in traffic.” (Chitra Vakil Sharma)
Talking about her monsoon regime, she says, “As Sawan month starts, so Satvik food was the only regime I would say I would follow. As a child, I remember my grandfather would take me down for a stroll during the rain. I would wear my gumboots and raincoat and would walk around Bombay Central where water logging was normal. I have seen Mumbai being submerged for 2 to 3 days continuously. The only happiness during childhood days was no school.”
