Prabhash, Prithviraj Sukumaran, and Shruti Haasan are in the lead roles in the film. Amidst the huge buzz around the film, which has beaten the first-day collections of Animal, Jawan, and Pathan, actor Chiranjeevi congratulated Prabhash and the team of Salaar.

More about ‘Salaar’

Prabhash plays the role of Dev/Salaar, Prithviraj Sukumaran in the role of Varadaraja Mannar, Jagapathi Babu is seen as Rajamannar, while Shruti Haasan is in the role of Aadya. The film is produced by Vijay Kiragandur under the banner of Hombale Films. KGF fame Ravi Basrur has composed the soundtrack.

Salaar will be released in two parts. The name of the first part is 'Saalar: Part 1 - Ceasefire', while the name of the second part is ‘‘Salaar: Part 2 – Shouryaanga Parvam'. Based on the chaotic world of Khansar, this film tells the story of two childhood friends. Deva promises that whenever and wherever Vardha needs him, he will always be there for him. But why did these once close friends turn into enemies, the sequel of the film will find out this.

'Salaar' at the box office

After Prabhash's previous film, Adipurush (2023) performed poorly at the box office amid protests, his fans are pinning their hopes on his new pan-India film 'Salaar'. According to early estimates, the action film has broken the domestic box office collection of top films this year by earning ₹95 crore on the first day. The film was released on 22 December in multiple languages including Telugu, Hindi, Tamil, Malayalam, and Kannada. It competes with the Shahrukh Khan Starrer film 'Dunki'.
