Mumbai and Bollywood have a long-standing connection with gangster-themed films, with each film offering a unique experience. The recently released trailer of the upcoming film Bombay stands out in many ways. It shows a plane landing with the movie's logo, followed by the actors in action poses. This marks a new approach to film publicity.

Bollywood has seen numerous gangster and mafia films in the past, with Ram Gopal Varma's works (Satya, Company, Sarkar, Sarkar Raj) defining the genre. But what’s next? With this in mind, writer-director Sanjay Niranjan has created his new film Bombay, set to release on February 7, 2025, in four languages. The same story has been adapted in four different languages and titles: Bombay (Hindi), Gaayam (Telugu), Mandya (Kannada), and Mawali (Marathi). The audience can enjoy the same storyline in different languages and cultural contexts.

The film's official teaser, released by Audio Lab, has been receiving great responses. Bombay is produced by Hallsmark Studios and Sanam Productions India, with Sanjay Niranjan as the writer-director and Firdous Shaikh as the producer, bringing the film to theaters in four languages.

The cast includes Gavie Chahal, Deepshikha Nagpal, Danish Bhatt, Ganesh Pai, Vandana Lalwani, Akshitaa Agnihotri, Pari Mirza,  Ashish Warang, Jassi Singh, Deepak Bhatia, and Pradeep Kabra, among others. These actors bring to life the period post the Bombay bomb blasts when the underworld mafia operated undercover to expand their empire. The film’s DOP is S. Pappu, and the action director is Moses Fernandes.

Producer Firdous Shaikh said, "Watching Bombay in theaters will be a whole new experience. The film’s portrayal of Bombay's gangsters is realistic. Their eyes reveal lies, deceit, greed, lust, and betrayal, with the film's background offering the perfect gift to the audience."

Writer-director Sanjay Niranjan shared, "Bombay will showcase action sequences that audiences have never seen before. The film’s music is situational, and there’s an item song featuring Akshitaa Agnihotri that will surely entertain the viewers."
