The Jagran Film Festival (JFF) is a celebration for cinema lovers, offering a chance to experience a wide array of incredible films. Held from December 5 to 8, the festival is a great platform for showcasing various cinematic works. On its second day, Bollywood"s renowned actress Riddhi Dogra, actress Bhumi Pednekar, and popular YouTuber-actor Bhuvan Bam made their presence felt. Riddhi Dogra On December 6, actress Riddhi Dogra also graced the event. During the festival, she spoke about her personal journey and her recent film, The Sabarmati Report. Riddhi shared that she never expected the overwhelming appreciation the film received, saying, "The way people have appreciated The Sabarmati Report was beyond my expectations. Prime Minister Narendra Modi himself mentioned the film on X (formerly Twitter). I was there when he watched it, and I felt like a student, as if someone was evaluating my exam paper." Riddhi went on to express her gratitude for the opportunity to portray a strong female character in the film, a role she had always desired to play. She also mentioned how much she enjoys attending film festivals like JFF, which has always been a space she cherishes. Portrait and Kala Jamun On the second day of JFF, the Marathi short film Portrait had its world premiere. Directed by Gajendra Ahire, the film revolves around an artist who reflects on the moments spent with a friend and the solitude in his life, expressed through the medium of painting. The emotional storyline deeply resonated with the audience. Another short film, Kala Jamun, focusing on the father-son relationship, was also screened. Additionally, the short films Irani Chai and Jagronaut, directed by Daniel and Emmanuel Ricky, were showcased. Bhumi Pednekar Actress Bhumi Pednekar also attended the festival, and during her appearance, she shared her experiences from her 10-year journey in the film industry. Bhumi recalled, “It was on February 27, 10 years ago, that I started my career in films, and I still feel like this is a dream. As a child, I only wished to become a heroine and be in front of the camera, and that wish has been fulfilled. I consider myself very fortunate and never take my work lightly. I believe if you wish for something with all your heart, it will come true.” Speaking about her experience at the Jagran Film Festival, Bhumi said, “The energy I"ve received here at JFF is indescribable. I hope I always get this kind of love so I can perform even better on screen." Bhuvan Bam"s Journey YouTuber and actor Bhuvan Bam also made an appearance at the festival. During his interaction, he shared the story of how he started his career. “I once went for an audition in Noida, where I stood in the sun for 7-8 hours, but my number never came up. I saw people pushing each other to get their audition tickets, and I decided I would never attend auditions again. That"s when I decided to make a career as a YouTuber,” he said. He mentioned that Taza Khabar was initially planned to be a movie but was later turned into a web series due to the growing popularity of OTT platforms. 102 Indian and International Films This year, the Jagran Film Festival is screening 102 films from both India and abroad. These include short films, documentaries, and OTT content in 34 languages from 29 countries. Some of these films have not yet been released on any platform.
