Javed Akhtar’s Statement on Pahalgam Terror Attack: A few days ago, following the Pahalgam terrorist attack, lyricist and writer Javed Akhtar strongly condemned Pakistan. Responding to his comments, renowned Pakistani TV and film actress Bushra Ansari has now reacted and criticized him publicly.

Javed Akhtar’s Statement Triggers Backlash in Pakistan

In the wake of the Pahalgam terrorist attack, criticism of Pakistan has been pouring in from various quarters. Bollywood too didn’t hold back. Several artists from the industry expressed their anger and condemned terrorism and Pakistan's alleged involvement. Among them was celebrated lyricist and writer Javed Akhtar, who gave a sharp statement against Pakistan. Reacting to his remarks, popular Pakistani actress Bushra Ansari criticized him without directly naming him.

You’ve Only Two Hours Left to Live

While condemning Javed Akhtar, Bushra said without taking his name, “Our so-called writer... all he needed was an excuse. He couldn’t even get a place to rent in Bombay. He can say anything just to stay relevant. What nonsense he’s talking — have some shame. You’ve only two hours left to live, and yet you’re speaking such rubbish.”

Stay Silent Like Naseeruddin Shah

Bushra Ansari’s anger didn’t stop there. Referring to veteran Bollywood actor Naseeruddin Shah, she added, “What kind of courage is this? Just be quiet. Even Naseeruddin Shah is silent, right? Others are staying quiet too. Everyone should keep their thoughts to themselves. Making such provocative public statements is wrong.”

People Are Being Provoked

She further mentioned an incident during an overseas trip where she met some Indian girls who were very kind to her. Citing this as an example, she claimed that ordinary Indian citizens aren’t bad people, but are being incited by political leaders and some prominent personalities.
“They were so sweet while talking to me. People are good — they’re just being provoked,” she said.

What Had Javed Akhtar Said?

It is important to note that a few days ago, Javed Akhtar had urged the Indian central government to take strict action against Pakistan for its alleged involvement in the Pahalgam terror attack. He made this statement during the opening of the Glorious Maharashtra Festival, where he addressed the crowd, saying: “This hasn’t happened just once, it has happened many times. I urge the central government to take immediate action. Bursting crackers at the border won’t help. Take a concrete step — do something so that their mad army chief or someone sensible like him never dares to speak such words again.”+
