At the event, Smriti explained why she decided to return to acting. She said, "It's incredibly exciting to return to the same art form after 25 years, working with a creator who has had a tremendous journey, who hasn't limited herself to any one medium or genre, who has worked across multiple frameworks, and is now ready to tell stories within the same medium with a fresh perspective and a new direction." Smriti Irani has returned to television after 15 years, reprising her iconic role as Tulsi Virani . She had taken a break from television in 2010. Smriti also discussed the challenge of balancing her acting career and political life. She said, "At that time, I didn't consider myself a part-time politician.
