The release of  'Ikkis' movie tomorrow on January 1st 2026, will surely be a  "cheerful-tearful Happy New Year Cinematic Gift "-----for all ardent loyal fans of legendary Dharmendra---since it is the veteran versatile great actor's last and final film that he acted in!

At the Ikkis premiere at PVR Icon-Mumbai,  event co-host Sunny Deol walking up to his legendary dad Dharmendra’s Ikkis poster and fondly posing in front of it emerged as a series of sensitive emotional moments, that will linger on in everyone's memory for very long.

Among the celeb guests who expressed their emotions at the premiere was veteran actor Rekha who arrived on the red carpet elegantly decked up in a glittering golden saree. What caught the attention of onlookers was her fond regards towards the film’s lead Agastya Nanda The 25-year-old  Agastya as we know is the grandson of Amitabh Bachchan and Jaya Bachchan. In presence of the clicking paparazzi the 'Super Nani' ageless movie actress ( Rekha) also paid a emotional gesture-tribute to legendary actor Dharmendra-jee at the special star-studded premiere of Ikkis, directed by maverick genius Sriram Raghavan ---its a film that holds super-sentimental value for the Deol family!

The late evening Ikkis Premiere event, held in Mumbai, turned into a poignant 'yaadon-ki-baarat' and austere release- celebration as Bobby chose to honour his father in a dignified personal way by wearing one of Dharmendra’s favourite printed pattern shirts to the screening.  As Bobby arrived ( with elegant wife Tanya Deol) at the venue, visibly moved, fans and members of the media soon observed on the emotional relevance of his shirt. The simple yet powerful act symbolized Bobby’s long-lasting close bond with his caring 'he-man' father and served as a reminder of Dharmendra’s family-man 'apnapan' legacy in Hindi cinema.. Bobby wore a white shirt. Bobby and Tanya’s son Aryaman Deol ( who may be launched in the near future as a 'hero' ) also accompanied his famous celeb-parents to the premiere, along with their cousin star-actor Abhay Deol.

Salman and Dharmendra shared a close bond over the past four decades. In 2026 war-drama Ikkis, legendary Dharmendra portrays the pivotal role of real-life character of Army Brigadier M.L. Khetarpal (Retired) who is the father of the film's 21-year-old protagonist Arun Khetarpal played by Agastya Nanda.

Talented director Sriram Raghavan’s Ikkis blends exemplary patriotic legacy, authentic war-history, action-drama and dare-devil youth even as Dharmendra delivers a deeply touching final performance with his poetic talent while Agastya Nanda shines in a powerful breakout role. The romantic female lead of Ikkis is played by debutante Simar Bhatia ( star actor Akshay Kumar's niece) who is supported by amazing power-house actors including Jaideep Ahlawat, Sikandar Kher, Vivaan Shah ( son of iconic actor Naseeruddin Shah) and several others.
