The much-awaited Marathi period movie with English sub-titles titled ‘Majhi Pratharna’  directed by Padmaraj Rajgopal Nair, ( also the lead character hero ‘Golya’) is releasing this Friday ( May 9th) at various theatres. The trending-viral trailer of Majhi Prarthana ( which means ‘my prayer’ also the name of the heroine’s screen-character ) released recently was highly appreciated and is already winning lakhs of hearts and views!  The tag-line of the movie is a emotional romantic tale of  "unimaginable love"!

The British-era period soulful romantic thriller “Majhi Prarthana with lots of twists and turns features a talented ensemble of actors, including debuting hero Padmaraj Rajgopal Nair, mega-star Upendra Limaye, ( as ‘Sarpanch’) , charming debutante heroine Anusha Adep, who plays the lead title character Prarthana,  Supported by co-stars Jainendra Nikale, Vijayendra Mandavkar, Chandravati Pawar, Hansita Jikamade, Swarangi Kelkar, Swapna Adep, and  foreign actor Andrei Bliznetsov.

Incredible as it may sound, “Padmaraj went on a diligent strict diet and lost nearly 53 kgs, since his character Golya required an authentic major ‘body-transformation’ without resorting to artificial visual effects or morphing. This is one of the apparent reasons why nearly six other known Marathi actors were not willing to play this demanding-role and ultimately I myself decided to play ‘Golya’s role,” discloses Padmaraj who is also a famous Acting-Guru who runs the SRM acting school.

The creative team of Majhi Prarthana is led by Padmaraj Rajgopal Nair as writer-director. Cinematography is by super-talented Tanu Balak, with music composed by Vishwajith C T.
