Not surprisingly, some 14 top Bollywood production houses are trying to acquire the rights to the emotional yet patriotic title 'Operation Sindoor' and its variations! Ek chutki shaktishaali Sindoor ki keemat, jaan gaye filmy biraadari ?
In the past, film-titles instantly inspired by war-crisis or medical health-scare serious situations have often been observed in Bollywood history. Whether the film is ultimately made or shelved may not really matter. But it’s always commercially practical to register the movie-title. Ideal examples from the past are titles like Ram Gopal Varma’s Hindi movie ‘The Attacks of 26/11’, ‘Uri-The Surgical Strike, War, Fighter’. Some seven film titles were announced and made highly inspired by the 26/11 Mumbai deadly terror-attacks. In fact during the Corona Pandemic, a producer even announced the poster-title of ‘Corona Pyaar Hai’ with the hero-heroine wearing a mask. Of course the film did not get made eventually.
Now, some 14 top Bollywood production houses are trying to acquire the rights to the title 'Operation Sindoor,' and its variations. This information was disclosed to the news-media by (FWICE-Federation) President BN Tiwari. Just after India carried out precision (surgical) strikes on terror camps in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir in response to the April 22 brutal Pahalgam terror attack, a number of producers have applied for the Operation Sindoor title. According to Tiwari-jee nearly 14 filmmakers and studios filled in their applications at the Indian Motion Picture Producers Association (one of the associations that handles the registration of film titles process).
According to cine-trade sources, among the initial contenders for the coveted title ‘Operation Sindoor (which was conceived by Honourable PM Modi-jee ) has been Mahaveer Jain’s company, which was apparently the first to register this title under its name. Alongside, Ashoke Pandit, filmmaker Madhur Bhandarkar, John Abraham, Aditya Dhar, Vishal Saroye, and studios like T-Series and Zee Studios are also said to have promptly applied for the same title for their prospective films. According to media-news reports, business tycoon Mukesh Ambani’s company also registered the trade-mark title, thru a junior-level executive—but since it was essentially a evocative ethnic symbol of Indian bravery hence they promptly withdrew it
