Saanand Verma Shares Gratitude for Industry Mentors on Teachers' Day

We have teachers not only in school or college but at every stage of life. Actor Saanand Verma acknowledges the many people who have helped him make a name for himself in the industry. "I've met many people who have been incredibly kind to me, and I've learned a lot from them. However, when I first came to Mumbai with the ambition of becoming an actor and singer, it was an extremely tough time. Two individuals, in particular, helped me immensely during that period. The first is Sanjay Nirupam, who is now a politician. He provided me with the support and resources I needed to establish myself in this city of dreams, Mumbai. The second person is Lakhamshi Uncle, as I affectionately call him. He was a friend of my only friend's father and played a significant role in helping me during my early days in Mumbai," he says.

Saanand Verma Credits Life, Mentors, and Mother as Teachers

He adds that he still feels like a student, learning as he goes. "In our profession, continuous learning is essential. No artist can ever truly say they have ‘arrived’ because there is always more to learn. If an artist is still thriving, it means they are still learning. Without learning, there is no survival in this field. I find a teacher in everyone I encounter daily," he says. He continues, "One of my greatest teachers has been Shashank Bali, who cast me as Anokhe Lal Saxena in Bhabi Ji Ghar Par Hai! He has been my friend, philosopher, and guide. But perhaps the most profound teacher is life itself—the experiences we go through. They shape us and teach us invaluable lessons." Of course, his mother has been his first teacher, the actor adds. "My mother holds a special place in my life as the most important teacher. I didn’t attend school or college regularly, so my mother was my primary educator. She has been the greatest influence and teacher in my life," he says.
