Eventually, she was assured of its authenticity, met director Maruthi in Hyderabad, and realized that The Raja Saab was meant to be her Telugu debut.
Calling it destiny, Malavika said, “Missing Salaar and then debuting opposite Prabhas feels like fate. I have always been a huge fan of Baahubali.” She praised Prabhas for his humility and sweetness, saying his nickname “Darling” suits him perfectly.

She revealed that when she first received a call for the film, she couldn’t believe she was being offered a role opposite Prabhas. “I was sure it was a scam,” she said, adding that she had previously worked in Radhe Shyam. Jokingly, she even told the callers that her father was Amitabh Bachchan.
However, after receiving official links and advice from her manager, she called back. Director Maruthi and producer SKN later visited Mumbai, explained the project, and began the casting process. After look tests, auditions, photoshoots, and multiple scene performances, she was finally cast in The Raja Saab.
