Akshay Kumar: On-screen heroes look great performing feats on the big screen. But when they try to act like heroes in real life, watching their expressions as things go wrong is a sight to behold. Such a story is associated with Akshay Kumar during the shooting of the film " Ab Tumhare Hawale Watan Saathiyo" in Bikaner, Rajasthan. There, a still photographer, Vinod Deshpande, who was an eyewitness to the incident, nearly had his camera destroyed.
Akshay's Bikaner Photo Shoot Moment
Producer-director Anil Sharma had often shot many of his films in Rajasthan, and for Ab Tumhare Hawale Watan Saathiyo, the whole team had gathered at the fort in Bikaner. Vinod recalls that on that day, all the cast members (Amitabh Bachchan, Akshay Kumar, Bobby Deol, Divya Khosla, Danny Denzongpa) were present. Akshay Kumar stepped outside for a photo shoot. A huge crowd had gathered outside, and Akshay told them, "Ae chalo hato tumlog, hato hato.." He spoke sharply to one man, "Hattah kyun nahi?"
Akshay Kumar's Heroic Moment Turns Into a Bikaner Ruckus
His tone had that typical "hero style" to it. But soon, many more people gathered around. They began trying to snatch Vinod Deshpande’s camera, which made Akshay retreat inside. After a lot of effort, Vinod managed to save his camera. The man Akshay had told to move was actually the village head, and he, along with his people, created a ruckus outside, shouting, "Kahan hai, bahar aa.. abhi teri heroism dikhata hoon."
Akshay Kumar Apologizes After Bikaner Incident Chaos
Everyone’s faces, including the stars, were filled with anxiety. Director Anil Sharma tried multiple times to go in and calm things down, but the angry crowd wasn’t satisfied. They were only ready to forgive Akshay after he apologized. Everyone urged him, "Apologize, just apologize." Akshay stepped out, joined his hands in an apology, and said, "Ho jata hai. Hum bhi aapki tarah hain. Humse bhi galtiyan hoti hain."
Only after that did the crowd disperse, but Akshay’s face remained tense for the rest of the day. It was a stark reminder that stars may be on-screen heroes, tackling hundreds or even thousands of enemies without breaking a sweat. But in real life, even one person can sometimes overpower them.
